What I looked forward to the most at a young age was the weekends I would get to accompany my grandparents to model homes. I cherished the time I spent with my grandmother scouring fabric and home décor stores. The fact that I learned how to paint a bathroom at about the same time I learned to read was the first sign of my love for design.

As a student pursuing my Interior Design Degree, I was offered the opportunity to participate in the Oklahoma Designer Show House. This is where I first met Kellie and her team. Never did I dream that volunteering to steam her drapes would open the door to a blossoming career. When it was time to look for an internship, I knew I wanted to intern with Modern Whimsy. Once I completed my internship, I was excited to be offered the opportunity to work part time while finishing my final semester.

I graduated at the top of my class from UCO School of Design and was able to immediately transition in to doing what I love full time as part of the Modern Whimsy team. I love the unique quirks and interesting details involved with designing commercial spaces however, designing homes is where my true passion lies.

I feel strongly that great design is about more than “what looks good”. The ability to help clients tell their story through incorporating thoughtful details into their homes is one of the most fulfilling aspects of being a designer. Each space I design is meant to reflect the family that lives there.

I would describe my personal style as modern, relaxed and traveled. When I’m not designing, my husband and I love to travel. Because of this, one of the first questions I often ask a client is “where do you like to travel?” I think there’s something to be said about how people answer that question. Not to mention, there is nothing better than looking around your home and seeing pieces that remind you of your favorite trip. This unique outlook on design has broadened my ability to embrace a variety of styles to better serve my clients and their families. I can’t wait to help you create a space that is truly yours!
