My natural love for interior design, coupled with my family’s encouragement, developed me into a passionate little girl; a little girl with a unique love for detail. If I wasn’t in the middle of improving an old space, by rearranging every item in the room, you could find me sketching out ideas for my next project.

Growing up, my mother did a wonderful job of making our house feel like a home. The pieces, colors and the intentional love she placed into every room, emphasized our favorite memories. When I think of home, I can’t help but feel the love and warmth she created.

Through my education and experience, my love for design has only grown and matured. Just before I graduated from Oklahoma Christian University, with a degree in Interior Design, my peers recognized my special talent by voting me the Art Department’s “Student of the Year”. Right out of school I worked as a furniture dealer for the federal government. I gained so much for this job but something was missing.

(Like color and creativity but that is besides the point!)

It was through the direction from my mentors, including Kellie Clements, and the grace of God that I started my own interior design business, Designs by MK. Kellie was a huge part of my development through the two years of owning my own business and not to mention a shoulder to cry on. Owning your own business is hard yall!!! While I was doing Designs by MK, I got asked by a Bass Brick Homes to come and work for them as their designer.  The knowledge of people and construction I gained working there, I will keep for the rest of my life. I worked with them for almost a year, but I had a longing to be back working with people in their homes and having those relationships with my clients. I had been praying that there would be some sort of an opportunity for me to do this again. My husband (goodness I love him!) told me to reach out to Kellie and just make a leap of faith. Long story short my dream of working with Kellie as friends and colleges came to life and I could not be any happier! God is good and I am loving working with Modern Whimsy Interiors!

Today, I continue to honor God, by using the talents and abilities that He has blessed me with. Every day, He allows me to help people, like you, who are ready to turn their house, into a home. Whether it is a small space or an entire house, together we can use your unique taste and personality to create a harmonious design. Allow me the honor of creating the space and the home that you have always wanted.
